Is Radio Scouting affiliated with the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA)?
Yes, Radio Scouting is also affiliated with the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA). The GSUSA
recognizes the importance of radio activities in scouting and offers a Radio & Wireless
Technology Patch program for Girl Scouts. This program introduces girls to the basics of radio
communication, radio technology, and safety. The Radio & Wireless Technology Patch program can be
earned by girls individually or as a troop, and requires girls to complete a set of requirements
that include learning about the different types of radio equipment, conducting a radio
demonstration, and communicating with other scouts via radio.
Radio Scouting also works closely with the GSUSA to support and promote radio activities
for Girl Scouts. This includes providing resources and guidance to Girl Scout leaders and
volunteers, and encouraging Girl Scout troops to participate in Jamboree-on-the-Air/JOTA (WOSM)
and Thinking Day on the Air(WAGGGS) events. Radio Scouting is a volunteer-led program that is
open to both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and aims to provide a fun and educational experience for
all scouts who are interested in radio communication and technology.
As a corporation, Radio Scouting, Inc. is an independent 501c3 program that serves all youth
programs. We assist local chapters that individually may be devoted to a particular youth group.
